Describe a Typical Day Working at Eclipse Energy

Working in administration for the renewable energy department, I wear a lot of different hats and have a lot of responsibilities, as I liaise between sales, our installation teams and the customers.

No two days are exactly the same, but generally my job is divided into working with sales, ensuring installs go smoothly and making sure all of our paperwork and accreditations are in order.

For sales, I typically handle the first customer enquiries, which as you can imagine has been quite busy with the ongoing energy crisis. I give potential new customers all of the information they need to decide if they want to arrange a design and quote, which is then passed on to our sales team. Fully trained in design myself, I can help during particularly busy times. I also register the insurance backed guarantees for jobs and handle the diary of our surveyors.

Most of my day-to-day work involves jobs we’re installing that week. This includes taking payments from customers, making sure that the installation teams have everything they need. I also arrange for scaffolding to be erected or taken down, and communicating everything to the customer. Communication is the most important part of my role as we want our customers kept up to date on everything happening with their installation.

Once the installation is complete, I work on customer handover packs which include warranties and test sheets. This includes making sure the customer has their MCS certificate and authorisation from the local Network Operator. These allow the customer to sell their energy back to the grid and is a vital part of our work.

What’s Your Favourite Part of Your Job?

I do like the paperwork side of things, but I think my favourite part of my work is speaking to customers. Everyone is different and it’s great to work with them and find a solution for their home.
