Ventilation

  1. An Eclipse boiler keeps you warm
  2. Eclipse insulation traps the heat indoors
  3. Eclipse ventilation keeps fresh air flowing through the house

An often-overlooked aspect in many homes, particularly older houses, ventilation is the third key piece of keeping your home warm and comfortable while ensuring everyone in the house stays healthy.

The average person breathes in approximately 12,000 litres of air a day, and the moisture when breathing out can rapidly add up when multiple people live in the same property. It’s estimated that the average family produces over 17 pints of moisture every day through normal activities like breathing and cooking.

In winter, when temperatures are cold, windows stay shut and as a result moisture builds up. One method of fixing this is to open the windows, but this effectively removes any benefit from having heating as all of the warm air created by your boiler leaves through the open window.

Keeping the moisture locked within the house also poses risks, both to the building itself and the occupants. Warm, wet air in the house is a key factor in the spreading of mould, which can cause numerous health problems including nasal stuffiness, throat irritation, coughing and wheezing. In addition, long term health issues may be exacerbated including bronchitis, asthma and allergies.

At Eclipse Energy, our ventilation systems provide the missing piece of the puzzle in home heating, ensuring your home has a constant supply of fresh air without reducing the effectiveness of your heating or insulation.
